Terms of sale

These terms apply to orders for the book Anton van Wouw by Gerard de Kamper and Chris de Klerk placed on antonvanwouw.com.

1. Products and prices

The hardcover edition costs R2,500 and the leather collector's edition R6,000 per copy. Prices are in South African rand and are final: the seller is not registered for VAT. Delivery within South Africa and collection at a launch are free. International delivery costs are listed on the delivery & returns page and are shown before you pay. The total you pay is shown in full before payment.

The leather collector's edition is limited to 100 numbered copies, signed by both authors, with a maximum of 2 per order.

2. Ordering and payment

You place an order by completing the order form and paying through Paystack, our payment provider. Your order is accepted and a contract is formed when your payment is confirmed. We then email you a confirmation with your order reference. We never see or store your card details: payment is handled entirely by Paystack, which is certified to the PCI DSS security standard.

If an error in price or stock is discovered after you have paid (for example if the last leather copies sold at the same moment), we will contact you and either correct the order with your agreement or refund you in full.

3. Pre-orders and delivery

Orders placed before 13 October 2026 are pre-orders and are sent after the launch. Delivery times, methods and the collection option are described on the delivery & returns page. Ownership and risk pass to you on delivery or collection. Import duties and taxes on international orders are your responsibility.

4. Cancellation, returns and refunds

You may cancel a pre-order for a full refund before it is sent. After delivery you have a 7-day cooling-off period under section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (except for copies personally inscribed at your request). Damaged or faulty books are replaced or refunded. The full policy is on the delivery & returns page. Refunds are made within 30 days to the payment method you used.

5. Inscriptions

If you ask for a signed or personally inscribed copy, the authors will do their best to write the inscription as requested. They may shorten or adapt it where necessary, and may decline wording they consider inappropriate, in which case we will contact you.

6. Your information

We use your details only to process, deliver and support your order, as described in our privacy policy.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or other South African law. Otherwise, our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.

8. Law and complaints

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. If you have a complaint, please email info@antonvanwouw.com first and we will do our best to resolve it quickly. You may also contact the National Consumer Commission.
